In this year, the fifth year of New Energies Rallye Český Krumlov is included into the World Championship FIA Alternative Energies Cup. The competition will take place from the 26th to 28th May 2016 and its centre will be the historic town included into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The race will start with the concentration leg from the towns Tábor (CZ), Freistadt (A) and Freyung (D) with the finish in Český Krumlov; two stages in South Bohemia, in the surroundings of České Budějovice and Lipno will follow. Festive announcing winners will take place underneath the castle in Český Krumlov.

The competition is determined for vehicles with alternative drives; electro-mobiles cover the route with the length of maximally 280 kilometres, 375 km route is destined for other vehicles (CNG, hybrid, LPG, ethanol,…).

The event will take place under the regularity rally rules in the normal traffic with eight regularity tests. Not the speed, but the most precise observing the ride average determined in advance will decide on the winner. Everybody holding the driving licence and serially produced vehicle with the corresponding drive may take part in the race.
