The second event of the FIA Alternative Energies Cup 2016 is already knocking at the door. After the initial event in Spain, the World Cup for alternative energies vehicles will continue on the territory of the Czech Republic with the fifth New Energies Rallye Český Krumlov on May 26-28.

The organizing team from ČK Motorsport can finally introduce the basic shape of the Regularity Driving Eco-rally they organize. Last week, the FIA has definitely approved the Supplementary Regulations that brings the crews not only a detailed program of the event but also rules of the Alternative Energies Cup and other useful information.

Due to the fact that the event has been included in an international calendar, the crews who had taken part in the previous years will face several novelties. The event is FIA sanctioned, so for example they will have to observe strictly the Parc Ferme mode, refill only at places set by the organizers and within the permitted time span, and also the Regularity Driving Tests will be measured differently,“ outlines the novelties Pavel Kacerovský, Clerk of the Course for the 5th New Energies Rallye Český Krumlov 2016.

However, nobody should be afraid of coming to Český Krumlov to fight for world points. The rally is intended for current driving licence holders and cars powered by renewable energy, officially registered to be driven on public roads. Drivers and co-drivers will find all the important information in the Supplementary Regulations. Moreover there is briefing prepared by the organizers within the frame of a gala dinner in the five-star Hotel Růže.

The list of entrants is gradually filling, with the first car being a CNG powered Ford Raptor. SEAT will be strongly represented on the start line, sending 10 crews to fight for points, including defending champions from 2014 and 2015. The crew from Jihlava, Jan Sedlák – Jiří Máca on SEAT Leon ST TGI, will come to South Bohemia to try to reach a golden hat-trick.

Other car makers will be willing to lag behind. Volkswagen intends to send a large fleet to the New Energies Rallye, and neither Audi, nor Nissan will be lagging behind. The cooperation between ČK Motorsport and Kreisel Electric from Freistadt, has started bearing the fruit; thanks to it, up to 20 other electric cars should appear on the track. However, the final number of participants will not be known until April 30 which is the entry deadline. All the necessary information and electronic entry form are available on www.rallye-newenergies.cz.
